Whether your landscaper needs a QBCC licence depends on both the value and nature of the work being carried out.
Any building or construcition work valued at $3,300 or more (including labour and materials) requires a QBCC licence. This threshold is broadly applied to structural landscaping tasks like paving, drainage, retaining walls, etc. If the total job (materials plus labour) reaches or exceeds $3,300, a licence is mandatory.
For retaining walls over 1 metre in height a different licence is required even with engineering.
